ABOUT ME

Hello! I’m Samia Asri, an Illustrator and 2D Animator based in Mainz, Germany. I specialize in Character Design and Storytelling. My work often has a surreal and a fantasy look to it. It is heavily influenced by the Manga and Anime culture, which have always been present in my life since my childhood. I started drawing as far as I can remember and never actually stopped, it just kept evolving. As I kept experimenting with different Art Mediums, I fell in love with Digital Art and its endless possibilities.

As the time to enter university approached, I decided to turn my hobby into my career and thus I studied "Media Design/Timebased Media (BA.)" at the University of Applied Sciences in Mainz and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in February 2022. During my studies, I was able to accquire knowledge in building a portfolio website, programming a short 2D Game, learn basic 3D Sculpting and Modeling, edit video contents and also improve in Sound Design. But most importanly, I focused on 2D Motion Graphics and Frame-by-Frame Animation.

Art enables me to put complex ideas into simple images and tell a complete story with just few lines and colors. I’m thriving to improve and use my skills for myself and others and leave a memorable positive print on this world. Whenever I receive comments or messages from people telling me I inspired them to follow their own path, I remember why I love what I’m doing ♥︎
